At first the heat may burn you,
With acceptance the fire turns warm,
Some burns leave scars,
Some fade away,
Some fires refuse to grow or be tamed,
But in the end the fires perfect us,
Into whom we will become
And who we are today,
Whether you feed the fires or let them die
The fires will come and go,
We need to learn to grieve and grow.
So we too may light a fire when we go,
Affecting all whom we care for and all who cares for us,
Shaping them with burns and scars,
So they may look to the stars in remembrance of who we are,
They too may learn
How to light a fire when they depart.
