LITTLE WISHES
I wish that truth prevailed
And sets one truly free.
I wish that guns were not made
And death by stray bullets unreal.
I wish that democracy was practiced
And power truly lies with the masses.
I wish that time would wait
And the one who watches it would wake.
I wish that love was enough
And marriage would be the honor of it.
I wish that flowers would bloom
And cattle won't trample on it for food.
I wish that man's heart was on a sleeve
And all could read and know what lies in it.
I wish that Angels were visible
And answered prayers dropped like a gift on the doorstep.
I wish that fathers love mothers
And sons as they love daughters.
I wish that hunger had no weapon
And thousands wouldn't be murdered.
I wish that humanity stays in this world
And when we cross over, it is a new beginning.
And sets one truly free.
I wish that guns were not made
And death by stray bullets unreal.
I wish that democracy was practiced
And power truly lies with the masses.
I wish that time would wait
And the one who watches it would wake.
I wish that love was enough
And marriage would be the honor of it.
I wish that flowers would bloom
And cattle won't trample on it for food.
I wish that man's heart was on a sleeve
And all could read and know what lies in it.
I wish that Angels were visible
And answered prayers dropped like a gift on the doorstep.
I wish that fathers love mothers
And sons as they love daughters.
I wish that hunger had no weapon
And thousands wouldn't be murdered.
I wish that humanity stays in this world
And when we cross over, it is a new beginning.
