The Space Between
The suns fiery eye closes slowly
Its final twilight asking for a peak
But I refuse its dying wish
As its light is not what I seek

Lights power through the sky
As our designated star descends
And my moon rises above
Stealing the attention from my lense

As the black nothingness shows its strength
Little specs of other stars come into view
The clouds part the way
So I can see quite a few

But it's not the stars
Or the planets or the moon
It's the space in between
Wherein lies my greatest muse

I'd hold the sun beneath the ocean
And I'd smother its flame
Just to make the night last longer
'Cause I dread the second it turns to day
