Not Good Enough
I sat there, my heart pounding, my vision narrowing, and my palms sweating.
I felt sick and dizzy.
She called my name and I quickly scrambled up to grab my paper.
I sat down with a thud and looked at my scores.
Not Good Enough
My heart sank, and my eyes filled with tears.
I had really wanted this.
To get into this school.
But no,
I simply wasn't good enough for it.
The people around me were cheering and yelling with joy.
They had extremely high scores.
They'd get in for sure.
E told me she didn't even want to get in, but she could if she wanted to.
I smiled, but behind my smile lay a girl falling apart.
I don't belong in that class, I can't keep up and my scores don't come close to theirs.
And you want to be a writer, Twiley?
Hah! Good luck with that.
