The Joy Of Sports...
#WritcoPoemChallenge
The sound of the stadium's roar,
Resonates with every four,
Down the pitch,
Over the arm,
Cricket has its own charm
I was new at the crease
But I won't die wondering
They put a spinner on for me
And I planned on some pummeling

The first ball he bowled, I sized him up
It was there for a hit but I just blocked
The next delivery was wide, I left it alone
But I was hungry already, by the third ball

As he slowly strode into bowl it
I danced a little down the pitch
I think he saw me coming for him
But I hit that one for a six

He gave me the eye for a while
I just smirked back in return
His next delivery was faster
I hooked it for some more runs

Before I knew it, I had 50 on the board
I'd taken to their attack, hitting several four's
I got a bit too cocky that day, as it turned out
I had another dance but I got stumped out.
