resting my feet to the land,
releasing my eyes to the sky,
a cover of light I see ,
unaware of what’s beneath,
my eyes like lens, zooming
to focus to reveal
and right there!
a spot if white I see,
starlight as what it seems to be,
not the bright that hurts the eyes
or the dingy that upsets the mood
but calm, peaceful and mysterious,
holding my eyes, not letting go,
enchanting like a view
of a blooming flower,
not happy as much
but not even sad,
I’d rather say, it was
something with a capital ‘S’
and seconds after,
the black cover was no more,
just black but rooted with
stars I couldn’t count
as if a garden full...
