when the heart does break
Part one: the break

downWhen the heart does break
It breaks slowly.

Softly ever so softly
Unnoticed to the eye

A heart that still pumps blood
A heart that still beats to the drum

It's the illusion of life
Of thriving when really it's perishing before your very eyes.

The heart does break
And the heart breaks slowly.

A heart that cracks
A heart that bleeds crimson red

Tear drops fat as the ocean
Waters as wide as the sea

A heart that finally stops beating
A heart that gave out.

Or perhaps it's light was put out by another
It's shine darkened

A heart in distress
In utter despair.

Oh how the heart breaks,
And the heart breaks slowly.

A million little goodbyes
Mini funerals of what could have, should have, would have beens.

Had it only been acknowledged,
Only been seen to the naked eye

The heart does break,
And the heart breaks slowly.

Slow and soft and white as snow
Delicate in its design

Yet able to give out so much love
Unrequited, unrelented, and unappreciated.

A heart that breaks
Is a heart that stays broke

Lying on the floor in pieces
Shatter remains of yesteryears

Memories of a fantasy life
But reality strikes once more

Destroying the what ifs
And the dream, the hope.

Oh yes...how the heart does break
And the heart breaks slowly.

Part 2: break on the mend

When a heart breaks, here comes the healer:

Oh would it be that I shout it from the roof tops. Till my lungs burst wide open.

There was healing in the breakdown.
Beauty among the ashes.

Oh when a heart indeed broke, then suddenly,
There came the Healer.

The mighty physician. With a quick work of His hands, the broken pieces assembled ready for duty.

Stand at attention and watch the miracle happen.
There's joy where there was none.

There is peace when there was a war inside.
A cry, a shout, turned to bubbling laughter.

Oh when a heart breaks, here comes the Savior.
New tears burst a new.

But tears of joy and not of sorrow.
Of hope restored and the cracks disappeared

A heart that stopped is a heart brought back to life resuscitated. Beating steady.

The Great One, the Only One
The most valuable player
The undertaker of pain
The defeater of death

Oh would it be that a heart would mend
Become whole again
And indeed it shall.

For whenever a heart breaks, here comes the magnificent.
The greatest of all time.
The Healer of broken hearts.

Jesus Christ is His name. Amen. Amen.
