There are three epitomes of love;

ISHQ-e-NAFSANI
The word nafs refers to "self". Love to fulfill low desires for self satisfaction or pleasure. Thus it create negative tar in blood causing anxiety in an individual.

ISHQ-e-ROMANI
This refers to being together or belonging to same place. Connection of soul prior to this life. This love is void of low desires, thus known to be pure between lover and the beloved.

ISHQ-e-HAQIQI
The highest level of love between human and god. Love originates from the creator. Piety and humility is quintessential trait to attain ishq-e-haqiqi.
