You know what Joiner his voice changes when he talks to you it's softer more gentle. What's going on between you two Janet asked.
Nothing's going on what could be going on he's a nice looking man with a woman. A woman that he loves he make people think that he don't love Val but he loves her Joiner said. That's your answer for why he talks soft to you. Joiner you got a simple way for everything. If things are simple why complicate them she said.
If I had known that Tate would be here I wouldn't be I betcha. The music was nice not too loud hurting your ears or too soft you can't hear. When Joiner looked up again he was standing over by the piano with his arms and legs crossed. Sally walked and handed him a platter of finger sandwiches to walk around with. Sally is his sister and a friend to Tate but also friends with Joiner and Janet. Getting around to Joiner she took one, you stick in my mind like a bad habit he said. walked away looking at Sally she mouthed thank you. A few minutes later he came in the kitchen I need more he said to Sally staring Joiner in the eyes habit.

Catching Paul off guard he just stood there looking and just bowed his head.
Now that's cold Sally said handing him another platter of sandwiches. Val called she's on her way Sally said as he walked out.
He says you're different from anybody he ever met. A lot of them fall for that kinda play but he don't know how to talk to you.
He walk around acting like he's all that but he's not.
After a while all that childish play gets old
you know whatcha want and if they ain't giving it it grow cold. You was serious tho wasn't you Sally said. Fixing her glasses on her face Joiner shook and said I'm waiting on him. He's nice from what I can see but I want what he's hiding.
He put on a flashy front but there's that man that no one has touch and I want that.
