Childhood isn't just a word.
For people born in the 90s life was very simple, back then even elders wouldn't be as busy as the kids are in today's generation. When I was a kid back in those days we didn't have cellphones, Television was the only source of entertainment and we grew up watching more of cricket,WWE,hockey and south Indian movies dubbed in hindi.Life wasn't very exciting but wasn't complicated though. waking up to Bhajans and yoga in TV and then finishing up with daily work and getting back to studies with a hand woven mat put under the sun(winter vacations) and solving a few mental math problems, practicing cursive handwriting and preparing answers for science and social studies homework I'd finish up with this uphill friend's call me up for a game of cricket in the streets, funny buy true we used to play right at the middle of the street, vehicles passing us by and with traditional street cricket rules, until the heat was too much to bear and then we all would go back to home take a bath and wait for the ice cream man to come by with his honk and we would run to him just with a rupee, trust me 1 rupee ice cream tasted like heaven those days and then we would go and have our lunch and as soon as the sun was bearable. All kids now would run to the field in the colony. we stayed in a dusty town somewhere in eastern india, a place not much developed but life wasn't very bad though. In the field we would play cricket, football and some other traditional games such as hit each other with ball made out of plastic bags stuffed and rolled out using rubber bands into the shape of a ball or kabaddi. Then in the evening we would all go to the nearby temple for prayers and evening Aarti(ritual if hindus) and after that we would have some simple snacks such as pastries or milk and biscuits and then we(all friends) would all meet again for playing hide and seek at night making a mess out of the place, shouting making ugly sounds, hidden in dark place so that we could make ghostly sounds and chase the our friends, breaking street lights with stones, jumping the boundaries of a local dispensary and stealing fruits all these adventures at night and finally after we're done we all go back home study for a few more hours and then have dinner and go of to a lovely stress-free sleep only to do the same things the next day until the vacations end and trust me this generation of kids with smartphones, Playstation, web series and parties will never get this.It wasn't like we didn't do all these things like movies, parties and computer games but those were not so frequent and stuff like going to the vegetable market with parents was a whole other thing back then. We would walk to the market place buy stuff and return home with some fast food as a treat. The thing is we the 90s kids miss those days just like any other generation and would love to live this life again for some time but the bitter truth being we're old now with stress and responsibilities and targets to conquer with sorrows in life and jealousy and being hated by people for being simple and loving.Thats how life changes, very fast before we can do any thing to preserve our moments. people say pictures save moments I say memories preserve moments for ever. So if we don't enjoy whatever the situation is we won't remember even if memories aren't good but they are what we have come to be now from those past experiences and how important they are we don't acknowledge it.Life is beautiful we just need to make peace with our lives and make sure we found courage and motivation out of our lovely childhood days so as to live the same life again and trust me it'll make us happier and more lovely.
