Episode-5
Caroline soon got a discharge from the hospital

Caroline : after all Mason didn't came to meet me..

Merlin : what ? I mean while you were unconscious, he did visit you but he left saying he was a bit late..and on the day you woke up he did came , seems he didn't meet you ..
Why would he do that ?

Caroline : really?

Merlin : yes he came all the way rushing back from the office after he knew that you got up..

Caroline : ok...maybe I should talk to him after I reach home .

After Caroline got discharge Caroline call Mason to visit him.

Caroline : Mason can you come visit me ?

Mason : are you sick ?

Caroline : no I'm fine why ?

Mason : all of a sudden you called so ...

Caroline : shouldn't I called ?

Mason : no no ... actually I'm glad that you called ..

Caroline : alright come visit me .... wanna have dinner with me ?

Mason : sure .

After office, Mason went to visit Caroline place but he found that Ethan was there too.

Caroline : oh hi Mason!

Mason : hello Caroline ..am I late again?

Caroline : no you are not ..

Merlin : you and I had alot to talk, come help me in the kitchen .

Mason : sure

Mason : I think I shouldn't have come Merlin...

Merlin : why? Caroline feels bad that you didn't visit her at the hospital .

Mason : hmmm ....I don't feel confident enough to meet her .

Merlin : but on that day I saw you rushing back from the office to meet her.
Where were you and why didn't you visit her ?

Mason : I was there but I went back as ..I saw Ethan holding her hand laying down next to her while Caroline was looking at him ....and she seems happy for the first time ..I saw in her eyes ...and I don't want to bother in her way..

Merlin : you and I had been a friends for a very long time ..tell me what exactly are you thinking .

Mason : humhum ...are you here to interrogate me or for the dinner ?

Merlin : both ..do you like Caroline ?

Mason : I don't have answer for that

Merlin : oh how frustrating you are ..tell me before I beat you up..

Mason : I like her alot but .... I'm not confident enough Infront of Ethan ..

Merlin : you never know ..until you confront her ...but things could be fix only after you talk . Caroline seems to like Ethan but you shouldn't leave Caroline for the term of relationship because she wants you to be her close and cool friends .

Mason : I know..but I will be that one person clearing that thorn for Caroline .I will be right there for her when she needed it.

Merlin : that's more like Mason .

Mason : I want her to used me to be happy ..as I like her alot ...
I think we should call them now and had our dinner

Merlin: oh right ...

While mason was helping Merlin in the kitchen
Ethan and Caroline went out for abit.
As they came back they had their dinner while having that Caroline ask Mason why he didn't visit her at the hospital

Caroline : why didn't you visit me at the hospital ? And I heard from Merlin that you did came ..but you didn't came to met me .why is that so? Am i bothersome to you?

Mason didn't have any answer for that yet he said sorry to aline with guilt in his eyes .
As Merlin know what going ...on..

Merlin : Mason got some work at the office handling your project and all so ....he went back on that ... day so you should be thankful to him .

Caroline : oh ...thanks Mason .. don't ever think of running away from me because we are friends ..

Mason : yes... because we are friends

Ethan : you both seems pretty close

Caroline : humhum yes we are ...but we are just friends

Ethan : Mason.. when I first met you I thought you were aline boyfriend ... I'm glad that you were just friends

Mason : humhum friends ... right ...but I can became someone special someday

Merlin : oh stop it guys ...

Caroline : right Merlin let's just enjoy the dinner

After the dinner was done Caroline ask Mason to drop Ethan home

Caroline : Mason please drop Ethan cos it's gett late

Ethan : that's fine I'll get a cab

Merlin : Ethan let Mason drop you it's late ..

Mason : it's ok I'll drop you Ethan

Ethan : ok if you can please...

While Mason was dropping Ethan they had a short conversation

Mason : thanks Ethan for being there for Caroline when she was in the hospital

Ethan : humhum...do you also like Caroline ?

Mason : you should have known by now ..

Ethan : I know just wanna hear it from you

Mason : hmm...no one can stop me from liking her but I'm not ganna rush things ...I'll be in the friends zone until she is willing to break that zone . If she is willing to date you I'll support you both but I won't stay still the day you hurt her

Ethan : hmm that day wouldn't even exist ....

Mason : ok I hope so ...

After Few hours Caroline got a call from Ethan

Ethan : when are you joining the office ?

Caroline : maybe next week ?

Ethan : it's bored that you are not here.. anyway I called you to met me today ..I've got something for you and do you wanna go watch a movie with me ?

Caroline : really I love surprises ..and yes I would love to watch a movie with you so see you tomorrow .

Ethan : good night aline ...

The next day Mason call Caroline to met him

Mason : aline can you met me today? I'm on off today so can you go out with me ?

Caroline : sorry Mason I've got some plan today ..may be next time ...

Mason : may be....can you not go?

Caroline : I have to go Mason....you sound strange today. Are you alright ?

Mason : yes I'm fine, but can't you Tell me what plan to you have today?

Caroline : can I not ?

Mason : ok I understand ...have a good day see you soon .

Caroline : have a good day too

Caroline and Ethan went to watch a movie . And so Mason went out too ,to watch a movie as he was bored...but Mason saw Caroline and Ethan together at the same theatre .
Mason stared at Caroline for few mins and he speaks to himself ...
“ aline I really wish I could be the one you holding your hands with. I Wish you'd look at me like you did to Ethan. What can I do to overcome this fear of losing you ? It's hard for me to act like a friend. I wish I hadn't ask you to be my friend from the very first day I saw you . lately it's regretful . Aline I'm in pain because we are just a friends".
Mason went back home without watching a movie .
It could have been a sad day for Mason
But to Caroline it was the finest day... After the movie they went out to have a coffee at the same time Ethan confess his feelings for aline

Ethan : caroline I have something to tell you ..

Caroline : yes go ahead ..

Ethan : do you know that I like you ..?

Caroline : ( aline smiles ) yes kind of

Ethan : do you want to go out with me ?
(Ethan took out a ring from his pocket ...)
Caroline date me ...please

Caroline : Ethan I wasn't expecting this from you ...yes I wanna go out with you..it's the best day of my life ... thanks Ethan
Caroline hugged Ethan ..

After all those good moments Mason got a call from Caroline
Caroline : Mason guess what just happened today ?

Mason : no I don't have any idea but you sounds happy and excited ..

Caroline : Ethan confess his feelings for me..and I said yes to him.....

Mason : as expected ... anyway.. congrats . I've got some work to do .. Talk to you later

Caroline had been living the best day of her life but sometimes things doesn't go right With what we plan . Did Caroline just choose the road that she tried to avoid it ? We never know what might happen next . Fate could have been testing Caroline's or may not be . would Mason remain as Caroline friend forever or something else ?
