His addiction her punishment
Kamla was working in Mrs. Verma's house when her younger son came running towards her and told her about the demise of her husband. For sometime, she could not believe and her life was frozen.
After few days of inconsolable crying, she recalled the memories of her sweet and bitter past. She was from a small village of Jharkhand. When she got married to Mukesh, her husband, she was only 15 years old. Mukesh was 20 years old that time. He was madly in love with his wife. He and Kamla came to Delhi to earn money. She was working as domestic help and he was a driver at call centre . They were enjoying their marital bliss.
One day at his friend's birthday, Mukesh's friends forced him to drink alcohol. After that little by little his fondness increased and there was no turning back for him. Once started for fun became his addiction. He came home drunk everyday and when confronted use to behave aggressively. It had become his daily routine.
Kamla was too young to find solutions and when she told about it to her parents, instead of helping her out, they accused Kamla of not taking care of him properly.
With the passing time, Kamla became mother of three kids, but Mukesh's drinking habits didn't stop. Kamla had lost all the hopes and was living for her kids only.

One day, Mukesh had severe pain in stomach and was admitted to hospital. Doctors told that he was suffering from fatty liver caused by his excessive drinking. Kamla was very scared and she did what she could do that is praying to god. God listened this time and Mukesh was saved.
Kamla became authoritarian after that and Mukesh's health was becoming better. He was not allowed to meet his friends as doctors had warned her,'if he drinks again, he might die.'
But as we know it is too hard to leave an 'addiction',when Kamla was not at home,  Mukesh one day went to his friends, had a drink and came back to his home. At night, he had severe pain in stomach, nausea and vomiting and was admitted again in hospital.
This time doctors were unable to save him and he left the world.
Today seeing their mother crying, her kids come and hug her tightly. Her kids are left without a father but with a lesson, they will never touch a drop of alcohol in their lives
