Synopsis-
A series of multiple crimes occur in different places and ways, which blow the mind of Officer "Maximilian Fischer"when he attempts to solve them and find the culprit.
Novel begins-
Constable: According to our report, it's a black car with black windows. No one can see inside, but still, people believe there’s no one in the car.
Maximilian: Why do they believe that?
Constable: Because the car has been seen moving on its own, sir. Several witnesses claim they've seen it driving down the roads late at night with no driver or passengers visible. They say it moves smoothly, obeying traffic signals, yet it never stops for gas or at any destination.
Maximilian: Wow, interesting.
Constable: Exactly, sir. It’s as if the car has some kind of intelligence, something beyond human ability. No matter the situation, its reactions are flawless. It maintains a constant speed, navigates sharp turns effortlessly, and never hesitates at intersections. People say it's almost too perfect.
Maximilian: Too perfect is right. No human could maintain that kind of precision under every condition. Even the best drivers have slight variations in speed or reaction time. This sounds like… either advanced technology or something beyond our understanding.
Constable: That’s what has everyone so spooked, sir. If it were a person, they’d eventually make a mistake, but this car seems almost mechanical in its perfection.
Maximilian: Either way, we need answers. Have surveillance cameras managed to capture any footage of it? Maybe we can analyze the car's movements up close.
Constable: We’ve tried, sir, but somehow it always avoids areas with heavy surveillance. It’s as if it knows where to stay hidden. Our best bet might be setting up a discreet team to track it directly.
Maximilian: This case seems really interesting. Okay, keep an eye on the car. Note each and every detail about it and report to me after a week. I need every single second of information about that car.
Constable: Sure, sir.
Narrator: While working at his desk, Maximilian thinks about the car. Suddenly, the phone rings.
Maximilian: Hello, I am Officer Maximilian from the Salzburg Police Department. Who is on the call?
Caller: Hello, officer. I have information about that black car.
Maximilian: Very good. What news do you have?
Caller: I saw the car just pass through the city center.
Maximilian: Okay, where was it going?
Caller: It was going straight.
Maximilian: Did you notice anything strange?
Caller: Yes, sir. The car was really dirty; the whole body was covered with dirt, and something strange—like loud music—was playing from inside the car.
Maximilian: The car was dirty and playing music, huh?
Caller: Yes, sir. And one more thing: the car's windows were clear and clean, not even a single particle of dust. It passed too close to me, and the windows were black glass, so I was unable to see inside.
Maximilian: Okay, thank you so much. May I know your name, please?
Caller: Carl Harrison.
Maximilian: Okay, thank you, Carl. You are a nice person.
Carl: Thank you, sir. I am delighted to help you.
Narrator: After hanging up the call, Maximilian starts thinking about the car.
Maximilian: If the car was covered with dirt, then it means it was roaming in a dirty place. Maybe something like old, sutted-down factories, a riverside, or maybe somewhere with a lot of water and dirt together. Got it! Maybe a gutter.
Narrator: Maximilian suddenly calls his officers.
Maximilian: Hello, I am Maximilian from the Salzburg Police Department. I got information that the car body was covered with dirt, so maybe it was roaming somewhere dirty. Search for these types of places in the city and start finding the car. I want to solve this case anyhow.
Maximilian hangs up the phone.
Maximilian: Carl said the car was making loud sounds, like playing music. It might be the car's radio, but how was the car playing radio if there is no one inside? Maybe there will be someone in the car; otherwise, how can it play music? Or maybe someone played it using technology. Really strange.
Phone rings.
Maximilian: Hello, I am Officer Maximilian from the Salzburg Police Department. How may I help you?
Caller: Hello, sir. I am Officer Max. A big piece of information, sir—a dead body has been found inside a closed factory.
Maximilian: Oh my God!
Narrator: Maximilian drives to the factory and enters.
Maximilian (observing the scene): This factory seems to have not been operated for many decades. What information do you have about this guy?
Officer: Sir, this man’s name is Jack smith. He was a businessman, a family man—mom and dad,...
