I never wanted this.
# WritcoStoryPrompt3

I read it once, then twice. I wasn't imagining it - I had won the lottery!

It was unbelievable that I had actually won, didn't think I'd get that lucky in a long time. Guess number 7 really is lucky for me, huh? My horoscope today said that my lucky numbers are 13, 19 and 7.

Winning the lottery today was a big deal, wasn't expecting something that good to happen to me today and that too it's 10 million!!

I admit I have been having a rough time managing the store and the house lately. Partly also because of the debts left by my father which is pretty burdening as the shop isn't doing that well lately. Not a lot of customers come.

I check the address where I have to go to collect the money. It's a little far,but worth the trip. Once I have the money I could pay off the debt with interest soon and maybe might even have enough left to renovate the house.

I googled the place. The place looks genuine and quite a lot of people or winners if I must mention, have went there to collect their lottery money. Looks like a pretty well established company as the buildings shine new in the images. I've never heard of the place but at least it looks authentic.

When I arrived at the place, I wasn't able to find the address. "That's weird. How could this happen? I'm sure I'm at the right place. Did they shift or something?", I mumbled.

After asking some locals I was finally standing in front of the building. To my astonishment -- it was abandoned.

"What the hell? It wasn't supposed to be like this! What a scam!", I scowled.
But I still decide to look inside, after all had to make the trip worthwhile at least by making sure if this really is it.

I had even called in the company to confirm before my visit. How could this be? A woman had picked up the call and told me to arrive at the venue to collect the money.

Nevertheless, I open the dirty dusty fogged up glass doors and enter inside.

"What?! You've gotta be kidding me!", I murmur to myself.

The interior was entirely squeaky clean and complete with a reception area. The walls were white and cream coloured, it was too bright inside.

I walk up to the reception area.
"Excuse me, is this the XYZ company? I'm here to collect my lottery money. I've won the lottery today", I ask the lady sitting behind the reception desk.

"Yes, please sit and wait for a while, sir", she responded.

"How long? I need to go back by 5"

"It will only take a while sir, just 10 to 15 minutes", she smiles at me.

"Alright"

I walk up to the waiting area and seat myself on the comfortable grey sofa.

Weird, it looks like the building is about to crumble any moment and yet the inside of the building is squeaky clean, with a strong built. No one mentioned that in the reviews. How could no one have seen it? Even the locals were a little confused and weirded out when I asked them about the place.

"Excuse me sir!" I snap out of my trance by the receptionist's voice.

"Please go to room number 636 on the fifth floor, to the right", she directed me with a smile.

That was quick, I didn't think it would happen so quickly. The receptionist seems nice. Unlike the usual grumpy faced ones.

I reached the floor and knock on the door of room 636.

"Come in, please", a masculine voice answers from inside the room.

I enter and the man with a beard and moustache asks me to sit.

"So you're the lucky one huh? You're quite lucky. Not many have this kind of luck. For the past few months we haven't received any winners."

"So what do I have to do?"

"Just some formalities need to be fulfilled and then you're good to go. The cash will be transferred to your bank account within 3 days", he replied with a smile.

He hands me a bunch of paperwork to deal with. I start filling up the details. I feel thirsty and grab the glass kept in front of me and drink some water.

After that I don't remember much as I start to lose consciousness. I feel dizzy, darkness starts to cover my eyes and I hear a thud. I probably fell off the chair.

After I don't know how many hours, I come to. I slowly open my eyes. The light hurts my eyes and my vision is blurry.
When my vision got clear, I saw the bearded man and the receptionist chuckling together. It didn't seem very pleasant I must add, rather creepy.

"So you're awake?"

I soon realised that I couldn't move, I could barely feel my body. I felt numb and was strained.

For what I saw next is something I would not like to mention, as soon, after a few minutes, I dropped to the ground in my own blood, limp, after I was released of the strains. I felt excurciating pain.

My body won't move anymore or rather it could never move again and I was slowly losing my breath, before finally blacking out again.

All that I remember in the last is, I never saw the light again and the excruciating pain.
