Deep Sea Disaster
#WritcoStoryPrompt27
A flock of geese flying high up against the blue sky, squawking away in familiar harmony, roused me into that state of consciousness that lingers just before awakening from a restless slumber. The harsh slap of salty, surf laden water struck me with a ferocity that had me gasping into complete consciousness. My shoulders and arms felt sore, almost as if they didn’t belong to me anymore. How could they when I had spent more than forty eight hours clinging on a piece of driftwood in the middle of the bloody ocean!
I lay there wondering what had happened, then it came to me, I remembered being on my jet ski I had launched from my friend's yacht minutes before the yacht exploded, the last thing I remember was a mushroom cloud of fire and smoke.

I lay there wondering if there were any survivors doubting this would be the case. I quickly realised I was laying across the remains of the mast the only remains left from both craft.
The sun was beating down, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Suddenly I was being violently spun around, I opened my eyes to see a man being lowered from a helicopter. He dropped into the water beside me and asked if I was ok and fed me from a water bottle, which I sucked on greedily.
He secured me into a cradle then I was winched up into the helicopter and taken to hospital.
After a couple of weeks in hospital I made a full recovery, I was the only survivor.
