BE PRACTICAL
Ohh, you are wondering what is this one again.
You see, one of the thing I hate personally is theory. When you want to teach or talk to me, use practical.
Practical is something you've experienced, practice and you've either see it work or fail.
There is a level of experience you will have that you know you can't make a mistake of again. That why it is good to meet with people who has go through what you about to just go through so they can tell you how to go about it because, they've been there before and they overcome. That will give you more advantage to overcome that which you are about to face.
You see many people teach and learn theory and when it come to making it real, they failed woefully.
When we look at the world, theory fail most time but practical work. Let take a look at school for instance, when a teacher or lecturer teaches you, you get to understand. But, when it comes to you practicalizing what you learn, you realise it is not as easy as you think.
When you look at our government, they gives out theory and you will be like wao, there is gonna be a change but when they get to office, they failed.
Some of us in the beginning of the year wrote out what we want to achieve before the year run to an end but we are still struggling to meet up with 20% of it.
Base on my experience, I see that theory is very easy and that what most people run after. But, practical is the best, because you get to know where you belong, where you made mistake, how far you've gone and what next.
You know it very easy to plan but to carry out that plan is not as easy as you think.
Most people are like, I want to do this and that, I won't do this again but they find themselves one way or the other doing it again, again and again.
You see, even Jesus according to the scripture in Acts 1:1 "The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach." That is, he did not just teach people but also do that which he taught them.
Now to be practical as the topic said, being practical is not easy. For instance imagine you just study your Bible and you captured the fruit of the spirit and you decide that from today hence forth, you will stop all forms of ungodliness and follow after the fruit of the spirit. And before you know it, you were passing by the road side and a car splash water on you. Now the question is what will you do?
Sincerely, what I am driving at is that being practical is not what you do or just happens by chance. It take the spirit of God to help a person practice what he learn when it comes to actialising it.
Luke 6:29 says "And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also." Is this something people teach and talk about? Yes. Is this what everyone that teach and talk about it do? No. Is this, what can actually be done? Yes. At least we can see according to the scripture that Jesus did that.
Hebrews 12:2 says "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Our perfect example is Jesus. And he is the only example we are looking at. And our aim is just to look like him. If he can overcome, we can overcome also.
We can also see some men of God who have also overcome in one way or the other and are still work on it. Our aim like I said is just to look like him.
John 16:13 says "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." And also John 14:26 says "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
We can not do things on our own. The Holy spirit is there to help us actualize and practice what we know. When he brings it to our remembrance, conciseness that this is what we ought to do. But remember, it is our choice that matter.
The Holy spirit can not force us. He will only bring it to our remembrance. In that case, it take a man that has submit himself to the leading of the Holy spirit and that is broken to follow the instructions of the Holy spirit. Because, it will always look stupid when you look at it from the other way round.
Mark 14:38 says "Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak." Most people pray and fast but when it come to watch and practical, they fail woefully.
To overcome the flesh is not base on theory, it not based on moral. They will only work for a while. Except you have the spirit of God and not just the spirit of God but to submit to the spirit of God. You can never overcome the flesh. We love practical but we don't want to pay the sacrifice. But today I bring it to you that, we can do it. But we must be practical. We must be ready to accept anything just that only Jesus will be seen in us.
Are you ready for this journey? Our lead and partner in this journey is the Holy spirit. So if you don't have the Holy spirit, this is the best time for you to come to Jesus. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." When you believe, you receive the spirit of God inside of you and he will start leading you and direct you on what to do.
