Irene, a college finalist, was at one point in her life faced with two options: Either she followed one of the teachers against the mainstream and the opinions of others, or she followed everyone else.
She asked him what to do to guarantee a bright future and he blatantly stated:
"While a student, learn Portuguese, English and Spanish. As a part-time job, work with foreigners from these countries, to practice the languages you are studying. Then, take also businesses classes and whenever possible. And when studying abroad, apply what you learn by creating a small company targeting tourists from your home country or by associating yourself with a local travelling agency and profiting from that business connection."
She did as recommended, and started earning much more as a student than any of her colleagues that had already graduated and were employed in different countries. She even considered quitting college, and said this to her teacher, to which he replied:
"Persist along this path and graduate first. Your certificate will open doors too. And you will have plenty of opportunities to set your own business."
She followed through and eventually decided to pursue another path, by becoming a manager in the biggest Chinese company Alibaba. She also became a part-time model. Her teacher, however, was fired for giving advice to students that contradicted absolutely everything that was intended for them, even if Irene ended up becoming the most successful of her class, and the rest of her classmates didn't reach even close to her results. Many of them, dissatisfied with their life, kept changing job and complaining about the low salary they received. But no wonder, for they don't have even half of the worth and life experience that Irene had accumulated while still in college.
