From A Friend To A Stranger; Chapter 2-:Stuck In An Alley
But there was not a single person there, it was entirely desolated. So she decided to return back to her car and drive back to the safe confines of her house .But fate had decided that day to play a game with her. Suddenly, the ring that she had been wearing fell down with a tinkling sound and ran down an alley turning by a corner. She ran after the ring in hopes of catching it before she lost it. She started blaming her bad luck for this mishap. The ring wouldn't have fell down if she had been careful. She had a habit of rubbing her fingers repeatedly when she got nervous. This is common for many people as people start doing different actions to ease their nervousness. When she had been returning to her car, it had been dark already but she couldn't help but just a feel a bit of uneasy air around her. Therefore, she became nervous and started to play with her ring. And now, we are at the part of what happened later. She was becoming increasingly uneasy and had an inkling feeling that something bad was about to happen. She would have left that ring at the very moment in that place and would have ran away to her safe boundaries of her home. That ring hadn't cost more than a few dollars but was worth more than millions of dollars to her. It was the only piece of memory left with her of her father after he had left this world. She couldn't ever bear to lose it just for her carelessness. Gathering all her courage she ventured into the dark alley and found her ring lying just near to a gutter on the street. She was relieved to find it there and hence stepped further to pick it up. But as misfortune would have it, her heels got stuck in one of the wholes of the frame of the gutter. She didn't even realise that until she had tried to step back to go to her car. She slapped her hand over her forehead and nearly cried for what was happening to her now. She kept the ring back in her purse, so that she doesn't lose her ring again. Then she pulled out her foot from her left heel and tried to pull it out from the frame by applying the force her hands. She was not able to decide whether to laugh at herself or pity herself for being withheld in such a circumstance. She just prayed to God to get out of this situation quickly and return back to her house without any injuries. It had nearly been half an hour and she still wasn't able to take her heel out. She was sweating profusely because of the humidity combined with her hardwork. She knew it won't be easy to take it out and she had been feeling an uneasy presence from the time she had entered the alley way. She felt as if someone was watching her. She just left her heel back there and carried her other heel in one hand and started to walk back to her car barefooted. She hadn't even came out of the alley that she felt someone move past her in the pheriphery of her vision. She hastily turned back and stuttered...." Wh..whoo... i..is there?" But she was met with nothing but darkness. This increased her fear and she quickened her pace to reach her car. Due to her fear, she had forgotten to look where she was walking and hence stepped on a sharp object and cut her foot. She cried in pain but she knew she couldn't wait back here to check her wound. She was feeling very scared. When she came out of the alley and saw her car just a few metres away, she breathed a sigh of relief. But she still had a mission which was to walk back to the car on her wounded feet. She started walking a little slower than earlier as it was very painful for her. She just prayed so that her clumsiness wouldn't kick in at this moment. But you know, it wasn't her day today rather it was the devil's day. Suddenly ,she felt a presence behind her and before she could turn back...............!
