Trip To India's Grand Canyon
For the very first time, my parents and other relatives planned a trip to visit Gandikota. We all were very excited, but I was the most. We went there in our car and it was about 370 km from Hyderabad. I and my sisters couldn't sleep the previous night as we were so excited to go. It was approximately 7 hours distance, so we all woke up early around 5:00 A.M and thought we would reach as early as possible.
We started our journey at 7:00 we all felt very happy as we were together. We all cracked jokes and were laughing hard, when my sisters got bored they read books and I was looking at the beautiful sceneries through the window pane. Our first stop was at Kurnool, we were very happy as we safely reached there.
From a little distance from Kurnool, we came across some drunkards creating nuisance and targeted travelers to get some money and we were one of them. Our happiness, excitement was all gone in a jiffy, and we became tensed. One of them, hit the window hard with his hand. Some people supported us and somehow we escaped and changed our route.
After this tragic incident, none of us spoke a word as we were very afraid. There is no adventure without some risks and tragedies. After hours of driving, we reached at a place, where the people said we could see the river water. We took a turn to see the River Pennar and this turn made us all regret a lot, as a stone got hit to the petrol tank and wheel alignment got severely damaged.
After hours of searching for a mechanic, we found one, he told it has to be repaired in a showroom.
Downhearted, we continued our journey, we drove slowly, it got dark and we couldn't see any sign of that place, we were in doubt whether we were traveling in the right path. Finally, we saw a signboard and we took a turn. It was a very narrow road and after an hour we finally reached a resort which was the only place to stay. It was 8:00 P.M and the sky was lit up bright with stars. Sometimes, things don't happen as what we planned. We were very tired and after we saw our room we felt very relieved. We all were together in a large room like a dormitory. We slept early till 9:30 as we were very tired.
The next morning, we were refreshed and the scenery was breathtaking, we saw windmills, mountains. My sisters woke up early and were enjoying in the play area at the resort, I also joined them later. Few distance away was the Gandikota fort, we strolled there for an hour. Beside the fort, was the River Pennar which was flowing through a canyon. That was the only place which was worth seeing. We took many snapshots and thought that we would have regretted if we would have missed seeing such a pretty sight.
We were not disappointed despite of the difficulties, as we spent time together. Whatever the difficult situations might be, but when we are with our family those moments cause less trouble.
