Kathy England is a bald, porky and patient housekeeper from Europe. Her life is going nowhere until she meets Elizabeth Olsson, a weak, pale woman with a passion for cats.

Kathy takes an instant disliking to Elizabeth and the stupid and clumsy ways she learnt during her years in the country.

However, when a ghost tries to murder Kathy, Elizabeth springs to the rescue. Kathy begins to notices that Elizabeth is actually rather remarkable at heart.

But, the pressures of Elizabeth's job as an actor have her blind to Kathy's affections and Kathy takes up cha or to try and distract herself.
