Daughter
He calls me daughter.
He calls to me "daughter" from the depths of the miry pit. Where I have been left, forgotten, sitting in my filth.
"daughter" in a soft compassionate voice "lift your head, lift your eyes"
I hear His voice and I feel this aching pain inside. " how can you even stand looking at me, Father? is that what I should call you? am I your daughter?"
I'm sorry that I let you down.
My heart is flooded with disappointment, shame, guilt. Im looking into a room I thought I locked up years ago but you've taken me to it and now it's creaking open.
You're telling me to go back there walk through it "but this time walk with me"
You call me daughter.
And although I'm not sure what it will look like I'm walking.
I know how small my mind is and I know your infinite wisdom. I know your unfailing love as deep as the ocean.
I trust you , Father.
Take me deeper.
