Runaway preview???
#WritcoStoryPrompt83
Some things in life are meant to be together.
Like me and Scout.
The feeling wasn't mutual.

Scout used to be my tracker, and chaser. He would sniff out drugs from vehicles, track criminals on the loose, and share them down if we weren't able to.
Scout was my police dog.
Being Head Officer, I got the best of the best. When the time came for me to train a dog, I got to pick.
Out of all five puppies, Scout was the most rambunctious. He would never listen, and always barked. "That one." I had said to the breeder. "That's Scout, but he's the worst of the pups. I would suggest the brown and tan one over there, his names K-" I cut in. "No, I want Scout."
I had trained Scout for 10 months, which usually doesn't happen, as puppies are often trained basic commands before getting a handler. Scout trained for basics for 6 months, then official for four months. Scout hated everyone else, except for me. To the other k-9's, Scout became the alpha. The pack leader. The other dogs respected him, and would do what Scout ordered. I swear it's true, I know it is! Scout would signal things to other dogs, sometimes I would see him flick his tail left or right, and the other dogs would go that way.
A week ago I followed Scout into the woods, he was so distracted he didn't even notice me. Curious, I didn't call him back.
A beautiful dog lay in the sunlight that filtered through the leaves, she was chocolate brown with a white chest and paws. Her fluffy ears folded down by her eyes.
Scout had attacked her, but he stopped when she fought back. She was smart, and he knew it.
Silently, the two parted, but for the next four days Scout would visit the dog at sundown.
Yesterday Scout left with the dog, which I now knew was a great dane and newfound lander mix, and didn't come back.
I knew he was gone for good.

End*

Hey readers :) I was wondering if you guys would like me to write a book about this in Scouts POV. Like him seeing the female, and running away with her, the adventures they go on, etc. Tell me in the comments? :D
