Serial Killer
The police officer immediately handcuffed the suspect for the murder case in the town. A serial killer had been roaming free, and he had killed many people. Everyone around was rejoicing, as they opened their windows and curtains to see the sight of the main suspect getting arrested.
There was no flaw, no mistake.
The reign of terror was over.
But, the policeman who had just handcuffed the suspect felt a certain amount of guilt deep inside of his heart.
The suspect was a kind, gentle person, and also the police officer's best friend.
The policeman sighed, as he could still hear the cheering and clapping in the distance. The policeman knew, he had to tell his best friend, the suspect something important.
"Hey," The police officer leant in and whispered into the suspect's ear, "I'm really sorry."
The suspect only frowned, but didn't say anything, as silent tears rolled from his eyes. He missed his family, he missed his life.
"I know you are innocent..." The police officer continued, much to the suspect's surprise, "But, I don't have a choice, do I?"
"What do you mean?!" The suspect exclaimed, his eyes widening with terror, "Does that mean you know who the serial killer is?"
"Yes, I do." The reply from the policeman was quite straightforward, "I know who the serial killer is."
"So arrest him!" The suspect cried out, "Please set me free!"
"I cannot." The police officer shook his head, motioning for the suspect to talk in a low voice.
"Why?" pleaded the suspect.
The policeman shrugged, "Well, even if you tell everyone who the killer is, you won't have any evidence, and no one will believe you."
The suspect slumped onto the ground, crying. It was all like hell for him. "Who?" That was all the suspect could mutter, "Who is the killer?"
The police officer's voice dropped, as he smiled, and whispered to his best friend, the suspect, in a voice which tickled his ear...

"I am the serial killer."
