People like to think less of others than of themselves.
This is reasonable, but unexpected.

Because one can never isolate oneself
Socializing is the first thing to go.
There's no such thing as a man who doesn't socialize.

It's human nature to like to make friends.
Literati are especially good at it.
But it's also in our nature to despise each other.

How many people can make friends from the heart?

Those who can make friends with their hearts
They always admire and respect each other
And out of sincere and pure friendship

这交心之不易古今总有相似之处

人有知音知心知己之说
哪一个知字都存在一门学问
绝非轻易可决断

而人最大的毛病
就是喜欢看重自己看轻别人
这尚在情理之中却又在意料之外

因为人总不可以孤立自己
交往当是首要问题
不与人交流的人是从来没有的

除非他是出于某种特殊的原因
被强制与世隔绝
过着生不如死的日子

喜欢交友出自人之天性
文人墨客尤其擅长此道
可又出自本性喜欢相互看轻

这可不是可以轻易忘却的往事啊
文人相轻多么令人感觉悲哀之至
能以心交友者又有几人

大凡能够以心交心者
总会是彼此相互倾慕敬重
而又出于真诚纯洁的友谊
