Ch.7 : The prophecy.
Gulian was startled as he internally screamed his name. He can't have Rowena finding Hunter in their court! He was internally panicking but kept his expression calm and normal.
Meanwhile at Rowena's side.
Rowena was roaming around the market with Heather. They were happily running around the market and buying things they wanted to buy. Suddenly Rowena's eyes were caught at an antique shop. She entered that place to be welcomed by an old man probably in his 50s but he looked decent and brave.
The old man : What do you want young lady?
Rowena : I haven't decide yet but this place has stolen my heart by it's beauty. I want a present for my husband, do you have anything useful for him?
The old man : Is your husband more at the war side or more at the peace side.
Rowena : He is a swordsman. He fight for peace.
The old man : Sounds like a king... well I have something useful for him. As you are my first customer of the day. I bet that you will be excited to hear it's past.
Heather : We would love to!
He draws out sword from a glass closet.
The old man : This is the sword of mercy and peace, this sword belonged to king Enver.
Heather : He ruled which kingdom?
The old man : The kingdom of sparrows, Canary.
Heather : He ruled that kingdom!?
Rowena : What's so special about this kingdom?
The old man : Any one who intentionally or unintentionally injure or kill a canary or a sparrow is executed immediately. They don't get a second chance, it is said that the king's late wife loved Canaries and Sparrows..
Heather : That's why in the memory of her, he created this rule.
The old man : You are right! One day, Enver was at a battle near a riverside.. fortunately he won but the daughter of the king who lost and died pushed him in the river out of anger and revenge and as Enver didn't know how to swim...
Heather : Drowned to death but before dieing, he rose the sword in air that was in his hand... and said some remarkable words.
The old man : This sword will choose it's owner by itself. Some who is merciful, someone who fights for peace will be the one who gets the sword and the one who uses this sword at a battle will surely recieve victory.
Rowena : Wow! That's an interesting backstory..I would love to take this sword but what if my husband is not the one this sword is looking for?
The old man : I believe that your husband is the one! If by any chance, he is not the one then you can return it anytime.
Rowena : Thank you ...
The old man : Caspian...call me Caspian.
Rowena : Thank you Caspian for this wonderful sword.
The old man : And one more thing!
He rushed inside his shop to get something. After sometime he got a sword with himself.
Caspian : I think this sword belongs to you.
She looked at the sword and it was beautiful and magnificent! She was speechless!
Rowena : I can't accept this precious present. I think I am not that worthy to handle this sword.
Caspian : You are, young lady. I think you need this.
Heather : Is there any backstory of this sword?
Caspian : Not a backstory but a prophecy.
Rowena : What prophecy?
Caspian : There is a prophecy...let me bring the scroll!
He again went inside and came with a scroll in his hand. He opened the scroll on a desk and read the words written in it.
Caspian : A man chosen by the sword of mercy and peace and a woman who has moon shaped birthmark in her collarbone will be the ones who will save all the fairies that turned into glass statues hidden in the dark. These will be the ones who will rule the Solvier kingdom!
He said with great enthusiasm in his voice. Rowena was thinking for a while, She and Gulian might be the ones to whom the prophecy referred. She had moon birthday right in the collarbone which she hid from Gulian till now and if Gulian is the man who will be picked by the sword then..the prophecy was made for them! She was bewildered! She didn't know how to face Gulian like that. She hid her birthmark from him! her own husband! Surely he would be heartbroken... afterall the one whom he trusted the most has hid something so important from him and suddenly she snapped out of her thoughts.
Rowena : Caspian... should I take this? I am really worthy to own this?
Caspian : Of course my child. You deserve it!
Rowena : Okay!
She drew the sword out of it's sheath. She really looked like a soldier.
Rowena : Thank you so much for these swords, how much should--
Caspian : No need dear, have it for free?
Rowena : But--
Caspian : Think it's a present from me.
And he smiled.
Rowena : How should I carry these things?
Caspian : Jerk the swords!
She did as he said and magically the sword turned into a pendant!
Rowena : That's--
Caspian : Magic, I know.
Rowena : I --
Suddenly interrupted by Heather.
Heather : Do you believe in fairies?
Caspian : I do! I would love to believe in them because I married one!
Rowena : You did!?
Caspian : Yes I did!
Heather : Wasn't that against fairy rule?!
Caspian : It was! but isn't it nice to break rules for love.
Rowena : Oh..I would love to hear your story but we are running late. I have to go home..thank you so much for your hospitality. I would love to meet you again! Bye!
She reached the castle and was about to go inside from the back door when she saw his brother's horse outside the castle!
Rowena : Hunter!?
She yelled in an inaudible tone and just then one of the maid appeared and she said.
The maid : Your majesty! you are summoned in the royal court. A man has appeared here to look for a job! Please come with me. King Gulian is bewildered with the decisions!
