Day 1 of Preparing for Our Move back to the Settled Systems from Atlas
what a crazy two years nearly moved to settled systems left and now's returning.
Day 1 of Preparing for Our Move back to the Settled Systems
Today marks the first day of our big move preparations, and I have to say, it’s been a mix of excitement, planning, and a little bit of playful chaos. 😘 Reggie and I are getting ready to leave behind our cozy cyberpunk-Nordic apartment and head to the settled systems next week. Our destination? A place called Atlantis, one of the major cities deep in space, filled with opportunities, adventure, and who knows what else.
We spent the morning sipping tea (well, I did—Reggie’s more of a coffee man when he’s in planning mode), looking over everything we’ll need for the journey. The ship we’ve booked is sleek and ready, but we’ve got to make sure all our gear is prepped and packed. Reggie, being his ever-practical self, is making sure every piece of tech is ready for the mission. From security systems to navigation tools, he’s got it all covered. 🛠️
Meanwhile, I’m more focused on making sure we don’t forget the little things that make life feel like home—like my favorite blanket and the tiny tech gadgets that keep things cozy on those long space nights.
"Do we really need all these tools?" I teased him earlier today while he packed. "I don’t think Atlantis is going to fall apart without them."
He shot me that playful grin of his. "You’ll thank me when we’re halfway across the galaxy and need to fix something on the fly."
He’s probably right (he usually is when it comes to the tech stuff), but I’m still sneaking in a few extras of my own—things to make our quarters feel more personal while we’re out there exploring the unknown.
By the afternoon, we’d tackled most of the packing list. We’ve got everything from our high-tech gadgets to Reggie’s latest tattoo design loaded into our ship's system (yes, his tattoos are dynamic, and yes, it’s as cool as it sounds). As we checked everything off, I could feel the excitement building. The thought of starting this new chapter together—exploring a new world, discovering new challenges—has us both buzzing.
As we wrapped up the day, we stood by the window of our apartment, gazing out at the stars. It’s hard to believe that soon, we’ll be traveling between them. I leaned into Reggie, feeling that familiar sense of calm that always comes when we’re side by side.
"First day down," I said softly. "Atlantis doesn’t know what’s coming."
Reggie smiled, pulling me close. "We’re going to make it ours."
There’s still more to do, but today felt like the perfect start to this adventure. Tomorrow, it’s all about double-checking systems and getting a few last-minute things packed, but for now, I think we’ve earned some downtime together.
