The masked girl(chapter 8: a lock down well spent)
They both had got locked up in the room. It was merely 7pm.
Dev got up and took a bag out from the top most shelf. It had many albums in it. They open some of their childhood albums in which Dev and Anu were together.

Some of photos were taken when he was teaching Anu and Priya to walk and some of them were taken when they both were dressed up as Radha and Krishna. As they were seeing all those photos, they went down their memory lane. It even had the photos of their last meeting, Dev was 6 and Anu was 4 years old. They were totally lost in those photos and didn't have a track of time until Priya's phone call disturbed them.

It was 9pm and she had sent them dinner and Anu's mobile along. They sit and finish their dinner. As she checks her phone she finds more than 100 notifications and still counting. She simply throws her phone onto the bed as she was currentlynot in a mood to see or replytoanything.

Dev asks her about her classes. She tells him that all were fine except one as she wasn't able to understand the professor's class properly and library wasn't having enough copies of the text books, she couldn't get one. Dev gives her his textbooks and notes and offers to teach her.

As she agrees, he teaches her the subject. She understands the concepts very well and they finish the portion covered till then within three hours. Anu sits down to revise as she wasn't sleepy and Dev dozes off within no time. Anu also dozes off while reading with her head on the bed and herself on the floor. Dev was totally on the floor beside his wardrobe.

Dev wakes up at around 3:30 in the morning and notices Anu sleeping with books in her hand. He takes them off, lifts her up in his arms, makes her sleep on the bed, covers her with a blanket and switches the lights off. He switches the night lamps on and proceeds for his workout.

He was a professional boxer and the state champion for the past four years. He was appearing for the nationals this year. He would workout for about three hours in the morning and practice for the rest of the day. On completing his coaching at 7 pm, he would come home and study.

Since his classes were in classroom for 30% of the time and the rest being self-study, he had good command over his subjects as well.

When Anu wakes up around 6am, she notices herself on the bed and in the blanket. She smiles and says to herself, " How sweet of you Dev." Dev was meditating then. Dev sitting like that scares her and she screeches out "AHHHHHH!!!" in shock. This doesn't disturb Dev. She then understands everything and slowly goes back to sleep.

After a relaxing shower, Dev sees her sleeping. He just keeps looking at her for a while, later, covers her properly with the blanket. This didn't disturb Anu. She was enjoying her beauty sleep. "You look so cute. Infact, you look more beautiful while sleeping.." said Dev to himself and smiles.

It was actually his time for practice but as he couldn't go out, he sits down to study.

Some time later, around 9am, the carpenter and key maker try to open the existing lock. Priya sends breakfast for them and clothes for Anu.

He wants to wake her up but keeps resisting. He hesitates for a long time and finally tries wakes her up. It takes him very long to wake her up as she was sleeping as if she wouldn't wake up even if it would rain cats and dogs on her. Finally, he succeeds.

She gets ready and both of them peacefully have breakfast. Anu questions Dev out of curiosity, "Yesterday, the professor told us to inform you to come to college from Monday and said you would face attendance shortage if you fail to. But, you seem to be a topper…. Then, why will you face shortage?"

"I will sweetheart. Coz, I attend college only for 30% attendance exactly. I am a professional boxer and I manage to study and pass with some self-study." said he. Though the word 'Sweetheart' disturbed her, she neglected it and asked further, "Your knowledge is far better than toppers…" "You feel so as I'm your senior, dear. " said he.

Then, both of them didn't speak much after this and simply sat down to study. The carpenter finally opened the door after about an hour. Both of them happily walked out of the room and the carpenter changed the lock as well.
