My father worked as a watermelon man selling from a vehicle, that how he meet my mother My mother had a child by someone else, who left her hanging with their daughter. The year was 1952 for my Mother first born and 1955 for her second born my sister with the watermelon man my father. my father got in trouble with selling the watermelon he did not turning in the money. The people he was working for was looking for him. His older brother had moved to Detroit Eastside where he company had brought a plant and relocated their business from down south and brought their workers with them. The company rented a house on belvedere near the plant. Once they got establish in Detroit, his brother had been there long enough to have a house on the Westside of Detroit. That's where my father went to live with his brother and his family. My father kept in touch with her by telephone, later on that year 1955 my father with his brother would go down south to pick up my sister and mother to relocate them up north in Detroit. My mother left her first born down south with her older sister, that had raise my mother as her daughter vs her sister. After the passing of their mother. Her big sister / mother could not have children on her own. The next year I was born in Detroit. My father had a job and was not laying low anymore. This same year my parents got married, year 1956.
