Half Moon (Chapter 1)
Kyte Harbringer was a man of few words. He only spoke when he felt it was important, and of himself, he spoke less. Yet in all his fifteen years spent as one of the Undead, it seemed that only one being ever really understood him as he was. It was the woman who had picked him up when he'd been starving on the streets after what he had come to find out was a vampire attack.
Kyte had had absolutely no idea that something so disturbing as losing his humanity had even occurred... To him, he was merely ill and suffering from a strange hunger that made him feel like he was dying. Such a condition was made worse by attempting to eat food his body could no longer handle, and all of which, came back up readily.

His near lack of control when he was often by her side, was also a troubling matter.
"Kyte?"
He glanced up in surprise to find the woman herself standing on his left. She stared at him with large black eyes, watching curiously over his shoulder, and waft the most delicious scent toward his nose. As an immortal being, Runa Harbringer hadn't aged a day scince the first night he met her, and unlike the humans whose donated blood he lived off of, she would never grow old, sick, or die. Nor would he for that matter, as he seemed to have stopped aging somewhere around his twentieth birthday...
"Kyte?" She repeated again, watching him attentively. He blinked, meeting her eyes with his and was rewarded with her gentle smile. "Lost in thought again, are we?"
Kyte...
