The UN has embraced ‘International Days’ as a powerful advocacy tool, as the occasions to educate the public on issues of concern to address global problems and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity, to build fairer and more equitable societies.

Let’s celebrate the International Day of Education - 2025, raising the awareness for effective approaches in education for peace and mobilize commitment for their implementation - bringing it into the center of local, national, regional and global peacebuilding efforts; under the theme ‘Learning for Lasting Peace’, led by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

On 3rd December 2018, The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed January 24 as ‘International Day of Education’, as a tool for awareness to address and prevent many of the challenges facing the world - from democratic erosion, persistent inequalities, growing discrimination, hate speech, conflict, violence and escalating climate changes. And, the first International Day of Education was celebrated on 24th January 2019.

Education is a continuous process of learning many things in life, beyond the academic subjects and studentship. In the modern world of fast changes and stiff competitions, we have to attain education at higher levels with high standards, to achieve the unparalleled higher level of statuses with successes - ‘Learning for Lasting Peace’.

Through the basic education, we learn many things from our childhood. We learn to mingle with other children from different classes, cultures, levels and statuses. We learn to make friendships with various types of children. We learn to face the ups and downs in our life. We learn the importance of Social, Arts, Sports and Cultural Activities. We learn the importance of our social and cultural behaviors. And, lately, we learn to cope with the application of advanced technologies of education, i.e. e-Learning / Online Education. And, also, maintaining lovable and adorable relationships, often we learn to keep away ourselves from our parents, family members and other near and dear ones, when we are turning out to pursue higher education. And finally, we learn to stand alone ourselves with our successful career.

Through Academic Subjects, we learn various languages and different subjects. Throughout our education in schools, we learn our origin, history, ethics, culture, sciences, mathematics, etc. adding value to our qualities. And, we specialize in certain subject/s of our choice or chance in our higher educations. We learn to learn…

We have the facilities of very organized educational system, which is very useful for all of us. We have to appreciate and utilize the system with a positive approach for our growth and prospects.

We have to set goals and have to be ambitious to achieve the goals. We have to work hard towards achieving the goals. For this, we have to take support and advice from our elders and other experts in the field.
