Indo - Nepal relationship is before the independence of these two nations . Indo - Nepal not only shares the boundary of 1,751km with west bengal , Sikkim , Bihar , Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh , also they shares their culture , traditions and customs by the bond of marriage , trade and travel . India and Nepal free boundaries seems as an example of a strong bond of relation .

India and Nepal signed a treaty in year 1950 to make their friendship more strengthen .This treaty is called ` Indo - Nepal treaty of peace and friendship` and this treaty was signed under the leadership of Mohan Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana . It was an bilateral treaty helping in establishing a close strategic relationship between these two south east nations . This treaty is back bone of their relationship .

India also helps in Nepal 's development by investing in its mega projects . Some of Indian projects are given below .

1) Raxual ( India) _ Birgunj (Nepal)

2) Saunali (India) _ Bhairahawa (Nepal)

3) Nepal Guni road (India) _ Nepal Gunj (Nepal)

Out of this two projects are ready .

India and Nepal solve their territory disputes by peacefully but this dispute got in fire when Nepal passes a new map with India's area in its parliament . It was passed under the leadership of prime minister KP Sharma Oli and according to secret agencies nepal was forced by the Chinese government for the land conflict with India . China has occupied nepal land . Nepal is not a India's true friend . Nepal have to choose one from China and India .
