A Strange Atmosphere - Part 3 ( The Twin Brother)
Sleep eluded me a couple of nights. A few times I went out, I felt as if the world was staring at me. I was made to feel threatened, spied on and desolate. Volodymur had connections in such high places that they froze my bank account. They were literally driving me to the streets. I sat at home thinking why didn't he just get it over with by just showing up at my doorstep with his men and gunning me down, then later realized, like the animal kingdom, he's just playing with his prey. Thinking out of the box was the only solution here. Going after the bureaucrats in the country who were pocketed by Volodymur sounded petty as they were only dancing to his tunes because of the suitcases being passed under the table. I had to fight fire with fire. I will not be able to directly destroy the big fish as it would be highly impossible. I've got to destroy his resources, disturb his business, sabotage his credibility, bring him to his knees and make him feel desolute. I've got to destroy him mentally first and then pull the trigger. In order to do so, I had to get my job back and for that I had to plead with the commissioner. But before I could do any of that I went to check on Leo who was still recovering under medical supervision. They said he can be discharged in a week's time.

The next day I drove down to the station to meet the commissioner. He was a bit stunned to see me in town and that I was not on the hideout. He did not know how to react when I asked for my job back and putting me back on the force was only going to make matters worse. He said he was a bit helpless at this moment as he got orders from a top bureaucrat. I explained why I needed my job back and that I wanted his backing because there's no one else I could trust. He too acknowledged the fact that Leo and I were the best officers he ever had and could trust. He was silent for a few minutes and then handed over my badge and gun and said not to disclose it to anyone till the mission is accomplished and if anything goes haywire I'm on my own as he did not want anything to happen to his family. I happily agreed and further laid out the entire plan and requested for a few resources and favours from him and the station, he obliged.

In order for me to penetrate into Volodymur's resources and business, I first had to understand how he operated and who better to help me than Abrahem Porkhovsky. The commissioner helped me disguise my way into Ukraine by flight and later that day I met with Porkhovsky. He too didn't know Mikhailo had a twin brother and his happiness was cut short as we had to deal with the devil. I told him how I intended to destroy Mogelevich and that I needed his help and he was ever ready and asked where we should begin. I asked him whether he knew the whereabouts of Perish Romanenko the lead Business strategist of the Ukrainian Mafia, he told me he knew where she lived and could take me there. We broke open into her house and waited patiently till she arrived. In the meantime her daughter arrived, Porkhovsky was quick to react as he tied her up in her bedroom as she was the icing on the cake to extract information from Ms.Romanenko.

Perish Romanenko returned late that night and called for her daughter, but did not get a response. She walked up to her room and knocked and still did not get a response. She invited herself in only to find a gun pointed at her daughter. I quickly from behind pointed a gun at her and cuffed her. She was a bit traumatized on seeing her daughter being held at gunpoint but we assured her nothing would go wrong if she co-operated. Porkhovsky asked her about Mogelevich's whereabouts, his business endeavors and clients. She wanted to spill the beans but was worried of her family's safety because the one thing Volodymur hated was people betraying him. She was tongue tied. Porkhovsky then assured her of her safety alongwith her daughters. He told them that he would relocate them to his locality. She gave us some sensitive data and asked us to act wisely because we were going up against a country which was indirectly controlled by one man. Most of his business endeavors were guarded by military personnel, it was like he owned them.So we had to move cautiously. I too had to...
