Abscond the darkeness ( Chapter -19 )

Author's P.O.V.

Nathan was shocked , he was flabbergasted looking at that unfamiliar expression on Sister Mary's face , that cold expression made him feel as if the whole world froze and so did the time.

The hurt and pain he felt was not from the arrow that pierced his arm but the fact that it was Sister Mary who shooted that arrow at him.

Sadness was the first emotion that consumed Nathan. The sound of the arrow piercing the air echoed the pain in his soul. It was a heartbreaking betrayal that would forever haunt Nathan and test the limits of his trust from then on.

Nathan ran away pulling the arrow from his arm as the arrows continued being shot at him which he carefully and successfully dodged. Infinite questions going in his mind , blood oozing from his arm and the boy kept running away to survive once again , for the little girl.

Suddenly a horse stopped in front of him , a mysterious muscular man wearing a black cloak and his face covered only his eyes visible grabbed Nathan pulling him up , making him sit on the horse and drove the horse at full speed , losing the tails behind.

"You okay little boy?"

A small husky voice spoke Nathan groaned in pain biting his lip not to show any sign of weakness , he doesn't wish to trust anyone ever again.

"Who are you? Why did you help me? State your motive."

Nathan spoke with waried voice and putting up his defence to which the man stopped the horse getting down from it and carried Nathan over his shoulder like a sack , not explaining anything and walking inside , to what seemed to be an abandoned shanty or hut.

"Zubaan nhi kya? Kuch poocha maine , aur utaaro mujhe."
(Don't you have a tongue? I asked something, and put me down.)

Nathan spoke angrily flailing here and there to get out of his grasp but stopped when his pain intensified because of his movements.

"Thoda chup nhi rehsakte ho?"
(Can't you stay quiet?)

The man spoke with his husky and sharp voice and put Nathan down inside the shanty, on the ground .
