Now Webster's position started decreasing.He went from 1st to 7th.That term everyone was surprised but this time they didn't laugh at him because they knew that something was bothering him. They decided to get near him to get more information but he never said a word. Mia always felt sorry for deceiving him and she took many plans to amend her actions but they all went in vain. Webster now stopped coming to school for weeks. His friends did not hear from him since he stopped and would always be told that he was asleep when they went to his house.
One early Monday morning,his mother felt that there was something wrong with his son so she decided to go and talk to him.
Mom:Hello dear,how are you doing today?
Webster:Fine Mom...
Mom:I can see that you're clearly not well,what's wrong my son?
Webster:Nothing Mom..
Mom:Then why have you stopped going to school
Webster:I haven't stopped Mom,school is just boring
Mom:Does that mean you shouldn't go to school?
Webster:Mom please I would like to sleep
Mom:Okay son,but remember,don't let the actions of others hurt you so much, everything was in the past and we're living in the present so just forget about anything and move on,I know something is bothering you,just tell me
Webster:Okay Mom....(Webster explains everything that happened between Mia and him to his Mom).
Mom:My son but why didn't you tell me earlier.
Webster:I just felt ashamed for being deceived by a girl and felt shy to tell you..
Mom:I'm still your Mom,feel free to tell me anything which bothers you. Don't think about it anymore,it was all in the past,start a fresh,live your life,at least she told you she was joking so don't think about it,no one knows the future
Webster:Okay Mom,gotta sleep
Mom:Okay Son,sound sleep ,love you
Webster thought about you what his mother said and he noticed that she was right.He started packing his books into his bag and went to one of his mate's house to collect his notes and copy it.Webster now had a new mindset which was to learn and get scholarship to a foreign country and learn.Early the next day morning,Webster went to school and sat at his usual sitting position which was the front chair.He removed his mate's note and started reading. He read the whole note and was done by the time his mates started arriving at school. His mates was surprised because finally Webster came to school. Mia went to school late that day because she didn't sleep early so hurried up in order not to be too late. To her surprise she saw Webster in school sitting at his favorite place.Mia hurried in class and sat slowly by Webster feeling ashamed. Webster didn't look bothered and answered every question given to the class and everyone was surprised because they knew he wasn't around when it was taught. They knew that Webster came back with his finesse this time but they thought that Mia could stop him. He ate lunch alone and would still be quiet and not talk to anyone. The time came for mid-term exams and Webster didn't joke with studies at all. When Webster decreased to 7th position in class,Mia became the 1st so she thought that she would be the 1st again which made her learn all-night in order to maintain her position. Unfortunately for Mia,she turned out to be the 2nd in class but everyone was surprised about who would be the 1st because they knew Webster wouldn't be able to make it from 7th back to 1st position. The results were out and luckily Webster turned out to be the 1st in the class. Everyone became surprised because when he started coming to school they spent only 1 week before they wrote the exams so they wondered how he was able to read all those notes and memorize it again just in a week which they weren't able to. Webster was happy that day because he retrieved his position and promised his Mom to make his dream come true.
Webster's mates saw him as totally different and focused now because he was now seen as the best student in the school and would not brag around with it. Mia thought that Webster would be mad at her but he wasn't mad at her which made her surprised. She also felt sorry whenever she saw Webster and tried to speak with him but he would always be short and straight forward not like old times.
Finally,the time came for National Schools Quiz week which was done by many schools in the country.Every school was supposed to select two candidates who would represent the school in the Quiz and the winner would be given scholarship to study in the States....
