Wide, frightened eyes took in the casual gait of the man walking towards her. Cold beads of sweat broke out across her forehead. It couldn't be him, could it?
It was him! That smirk on his thin lips was too cruel to belong to someone else.
But how could it be? She had killed him years ago!...
"So we meet again?" He maliciously chuckled, in a low baritone voice sending unpleasant shivers down her spine.
With gritted teeth, she glared at him. "You!" she seethed.
"In the flesh, baby girl." He acted unfazed by her demeanor, refusing to let the smirk fade from his lips.
Her eyes darted around the small county bar then back at him. "What are you doing here?"
"I just came to warn you."
"Warn me?" she chuckled, hoping he couldn't tell how nervous she was.
He nodded, becoming serious for a split second. "So watch you back, because karma is a-"
