Journey To Dawki
The sun was up . After a bunch of days today I was the enjoying the dim light of dawn turn into a bright day again. This light soon started to feel my mind with enthusiasm and excitement. And why shall I not be excited? I will be visiting the most awaited place in my life, Dawki, Meghalaya. We started our journey early in the morning.

Crossing each kilometers was like adding fuel to my excitement . As soon as we crossed Guwahati city the breeze and the air started to change its vibe . Here starts the cold , breezy vibe of Shillong. Many people complains about the zic zac roads of Shillong but if you ask me that is what I enjoy the most . This is the beauty of visiting a hill station. The twisted roads of hill stations unfolds its hardships of construction and making every mean possible for us to visit these beautiful creations of nature . After few hours we stopped midway to have a sip of tea and refresh ourselves. Never thought that a stop by the roadside stalls to have a sip of tea will surprise me with its amazing view of Barapani Lake. I was stunned for a moment by the beauty Shillong hills have in its lap . Now after appreciating another piece of beauty of mother earth we continued our journey to reach Dawki .
Every few kilometers we pass it unfolds another surprise for us . The lush green hills of Shillong covered with densed cloud and passing between the canopy of hills makes me fall in love with it even more . Crossing the highlands now we were going down the hills to reach our destination. Dawki river which is know as Umngot River is an international water . The river is shared between two countries, Bangladesh and India. Hence to reach Dawki you have to cross through the highlands and go down to reach the river .

Now as we move downwards my eyes got stunned to witness the beutiful countryside view of Meghalaya. O my god !! I was stunned throughout the whole journey . It was so beautiful to see those small small villages of huts and little children's running here and there enjoying the beauty around them . Sadly I couldn't take much pictures because I was not willing to take off my eyes away from the view even for a fraction of a second. But the pictures captured in my mind are still refreshed .

Finally we reached DAWKI . And yes again I was awed by the blessing of flora in Meghalaya. It is blessing itself to be able to visit in such a beautiful and peaceful place. The colourful boats line up by the riverside and blue crystal waters behind it was a scenery worth a watch . It was a contrasting view . One side of the river was covered with giant rocks and green trees while the other side was bare sky reflecting in the waters . When you visit dawki skipping boating is not a choice. So yes we too choosed our boat and went to float on the beautiful, crystal, cold waters of Umngot. I am slightly hydrophobic but still can't miss this beauty ride . My heart was beating faster as we were saying our byee byee to the shore and heading towards the dept of the river . The cold breeze slowly and slowly took away my fear . The beautiful spring falls between those giant rocks when sprinkle its purety for instance its gave me the welcoming message by Dawki. Closing my eyes and touching the cold water made my mind relax and let me forget all the tensions and stress I had in me. Really if possible I would always go there to close my eyes and let the pure wind of Dawki give me message of positivity.

I didn't wanted our day to end. But time was up and we had to depart preserving the lush green images of Dawki only in my mind . I was indeed sad after enjoying my day in fresh air which was barely available in cities . But hoping to visit again in this magical place with a bunch of positivity in my mind I said ,"byee byee Dawki . Hope to meet you soon ." As we headed towards Guwahati slowly the breezy vibe of Shillong started to fade. But its beauty still remains fresh in my mind . I feel the highlands of Shillong inviting me to witness its beauty again again . The vibe of Shillong is strong. Once you visit there it remains with you forever.
