The Chase.
My footsteps resonate in my head and not a second later, I hear his too.
"I'm going to get you!" He says through his smirk.
"Like hell you are..." I shout back.
"Oh, is that a challenge, darling?" He questions me.
"We both know I love a good challenge..." He adds in a shout. It's also how loud his shouts are that are signalling that he is getting closer and closer to me.
"I, too, love a good challenge..." I reply in a shout, before quickly turning a corner and when I do, I look back just to see him overshoot forward. "Because of how easily I can juke you!" I add, I can't help but let out a giggle or two before I speed up my run.
"Ohhh... When I get my hands on you, baby..." He shouts out.
"Mmmm, I'm loving the sound of that," I reply.
"Me too, baby... Me too..." He says before I focus on the sound of his steps. He's, once again, getting closer and closer to me.
"Looks like you are not catching up to me, are you?..." I state ironically.
"Oh, are you sure about that?" I feel surprise when I hear his voice in a closer proximity then I expected it to be.
"Yes..." I reply before I give it all into my run, but the feeling of tiredness slowly kicking in is not helping my case.
I run and run and run, my breath is slowly but...
