That unusually dark night, the sky was covered by slowly shifting clouds hiding the newly born crescent. The only sound in the air was the distant clicking and chirping of crickets and twigs crackling under Emma's boots.
She walked across the garden, both hands trapped in the pockets of her blue jeans. Her rough, blonde hair blew over her pale face with the light winds.
Emma was 25. A software engineer according to her degree. She had given her twelfth job interview this month. Result negative. Again.
