Discipline
She ended up being a school teacher. She herself was pretty disciplined, thanks to her dad. She hated to wait and was at or before time wherever she was asked for. First day in school and that too a government one, she reached before time and it was locked. She didn't know what to do so stood near the gate and waited for someone to come first. Some students were also waiting, so she started chatting with them. Students were excited to have a new teacher and were all pumped up for the day. She felt welcomed, afterall she was here because of them. After a while, a car parked near the gate and called the gatekeeper to open the gate. The gate opened with a lean guy rubbing his eyes. Obviously he had over slept. She enetered the school and was impressed with the campus. It had big playgrounds and huge buildings. She asked for the main office and sat in the waiting area. The teachers started pouring one by one and thinking of her as a parent or trainee, completely ignored her. She picked up some strength and stopped a teacher to ask who was the incharge. She was immediately questioned why and she answered that she had come to join. Soon, everyone gathered around her and welcomed her in the school apologising for not asking her earlier. She was made to sit in the main office and asked to wait until the principal comes. She was bored but tried to keep herself busy looking around and greeting innumerable strangers. Some kids also peeped inside office to have a glimpse of her. She reciprocated with a smile.

After a long wait, the Principal came and made her join the school. He made her comfortable by asking about her qualifications and experience of teaching and welcomed her. He called another head teacher and told her to provide the new teacher a time table and staff room to sit. She was taken to a huge staff room and her arrival was announced. Everyone welcomed her once again and made her sit, offered tea and some fellow instructions followed thereafter. She was handed her new time table, a diary, a whiteboard marker and a set of red pens. She was made class incharge of 9A and he class began in 20 minutes.

She got up before the bell and asking for her class, reached outside class which was in the new building near basketball ground. The previous teacher was telling the students to maintain discipline and welcome the new teacher with grace. There was a little hooting which was immediately shushed when she enetered her room. She thanked the teacher who left and moved to the podium. Before her was a big classroom with almost 60 teenagers staring back at her with excitement. She smiled and introduced herself and told them that she would be their class incharge and would love to see them everyday in school. She turned around to write her name on the board when something hit her at back. She turned back to see a small pencil at floor and giggling faces. She ignored and started to write again when another thing hit her, now she knew what was happening. She stood still and turned around slowly with a calm face. Picked the pencils and placed them on her table. Sat down on her chair and kept looking at every student's face. She didn't utter a word, the students were embarassed, started looking at each other and then quietly opened their books and showed themselves busy. There was complete silence in class for next 30 minutes. She sat still with a stern face with her eyes glued on each one of her pupils. There was unrest in the crowd but no body uttered a word. The bell rang, all heaved a sigh of relief, looked up at their new teacher, who was still looking at them poker faced. Nobody dared get up, move or ask anything. The next teacher came and was surprised to see such calm atmosphere in the section that was most indisciplined and notorious .She got up from her seat, her eyes still with same expression, greeted the new teacher and left the room.

After recess, she again had her class in the same section. She reached before time with students rushing in from the playground with sweaty red faces and shirts outside. They saw her standing outside the class with the same look and entered quietly one by one. After 5 minutes, she entered the class, the class quietened, she reached for her chair, sat and again started looking at them. After 5 minutes, a girl stood up and said sorry. She didn't reply, then a boy stood up and said we all are very sorry mam. She moved her eyes from the girl to the boy and to the rest of the class, their heads hung in shame, she didn't say anything. Every minute passed with great difficulty, she could see sweat beads on many faces. She got up, went to the board, wrote something, only the sound of chalk rubbing against the board could be heard. She turned around, all eyes on her. The bell rang, the next teacher came and she left. The class was dead silent. The next teacher was also surprised to see such quiet class until he moved towards the board where it was written in bold letters
