My uncle drove me the next day, to a venue the out listed applicants were supposed to be for the next twelve days. When we finally arrived, he helped me remove my bags from his car, wished me good luck with a kiss on my head and drove off. I put my scarf on my head to hang around my neck as I adjusted my shades.
The building wasn't huge. It looked like a normal studio, with just the GOULDERS sign hanging on it. Any other form of decor was absent and the color of the building was grey.
As I made my way into the building, I remembered the advice my uncle gave me before coming here. He warned me not to tell anyone that I'm from the middle east, as people aren't accommodating towards them because of the Islamic terrorism that happened in the US popularly known as '9/11'. It hasn't been long since that had happened and so to avoid discrimination, I had to keep quiet about my race. I wasn't comfortable with it but I had no choice.
When I entered the building, the inner decor was just as bland as the outer one. I made my way to the receptionist as I removed my shade and scarf. When I told her my name, she went through a list she held and when she found my name, she ticked it. She called for someone to lead me to my room.
