A Letter to Cinderella
Dear Cinderella ,
You were the one because of whom I started believing in magic and I can't thankyou enough for that . But isn't it an irony that the one who made me believe in magic , the one who saw magic in others refused to see it in herself?? In your story everything changed when Fairy God Mother came to your rescue and turned the whole situation around . Yes I always used to love that particular part the most when my mom used to narrate your story to me in childhood . How Fairy God Mother turned your dress from rags to a beautiful gown with shiny glass slippers , the way she turned her wand and arranged a horse cart for you . When I was a child , I was always amazed by this part because it made me believe that whenever a person faces a tough situation , Fairy God Mother always comes to their rescue . Everything changed for you in one night and your Fairytale got a Happy Ending .
I loved your story at that time and I still do trust me on this . But the reasons are different . I still believe in MAGIC . But my definition of " MAGIC" has changed drastically over time . Earlier I used to think that for some kind of magic to happen in your life you always need a "Fairy God Mother" by your side but now since I know that Life is not a Fairy Tale and there are no Fairy God Mothers who carry wands to perform MAGIC , I started finding that magic inside my ownself . Yes sometimes some people help you find your own MAGIC when you feel lost but they are not Fairy God Mothers they are just normal humans who possess the qualities of Fairy God Mother . I used to always agonize your situation when my mom narrated your story to me but now I agonize the fact that you didn't realize that the way Fairy God Mother helped you was not magic because you carried that magic all along in yourself but just failed to see it which Fairy God Mother did . Your magic lied in your purity and that's why Fairy God Mother turned your situation . She chose you because of your magic and your purity . How did you fail to acknowledge that? Why did you look upto others to recognize you but failed to recognize yourself? Why did you try to hide your Magic?
These are some of the questions which pop up inside my head now .
I still adore you and will always do . Your story has given me a reason to believe in plottwists and MAGIC . But the major takeaway from your story for me atleast was that , "The key to magic lies within yourself . For a Magic to occur in your life , you don't need a Fairy God Mother and her wand .Instead you just need to recognize and have faith in the magic you hold within yourself to fulfill your dreams ." Last but not the least thankyou for making my childhood magical . I love you 💖💖💖
