Domestic politics....
Today, I met a person who was merely 60 years of an age.He has gray hair and gray thin Beard. He had small squinty eyes.He was looking so old and feable that I couldn't imagine that he could ever be a young person.
He was a priest of a church. He was living with his wife alnog with his two sons and their wives.
He came to me with frowning expressions. It was clearly seen that he was fed up from his life.
I asked him politely"What happened father? How may I help you?"
The priest replied"Frustration!Anger!Fury!!!I am fed up of showing fakeness to my family members."
His voice was so loud that all my collegues were watching at him.
I said"Be relaxed and calm down."When he calm down,I enquired him,"Now tell me.What happened,father?"
He said "I am living with my wife for past 38 years. But she never understood me."
I asked,"What you want to make her understand?"
He said,"From the past 38 years,I have been listening to her without speaking a single word.I always thought that she would understand me.Once upon a time, my friend held a small party at his home.I wanted to go there. But at the very same night, she held a small get together at home and she wanted me also to attend it.I just wanted to enjoy with my friends but she didn't understand this."
I asked if he informed her wife about his friend's party. He said,"No ,I don't want any arguments."
I was about to crack the laughter but I stopped.
He added further,"Why should I tell her?Why is she not understanding my point?"
I asked him if he had any other problem. He then explained ,"My elder daughter in law, when she stepped for the first time in our home,I told my wife not to argue with her.Even not to argue at her mistakes.I said her that she must act younger in front of her."
He added further,"Once a day, she added more quantity of salt in the dinner.I asked my wife to remain quiet.I even said her that our daughter-in-law will understand her mistake when she herself taste the dinner. From that time ,our daughter-in-law started adding that much quantity of salt on the daily basis. Now me and my wife are having hypertension. But she still doesn't understand the fact that we eat less salt."He clenched his teeth and fist tightly with anger.
He added further,"Even my both sons never asked about how their parents feels."
From the above all discussion,I was understanding the main problem.I counselled him properly. This was not others problem, the problem was residing within him.His thoughts got bottled up.He didn't let his feelings reveal. This drawback lead to frustration in him.
On that day he straight went to his home and communicated his feelings with his family members. And the next he came with a wide smile on his face.It was as if he had conquered a war.But trust me managing your emotions are just like conquering a war.
So from the above issue,I learnt that we humans are so busy in making feel others good, that we neglect self care and self love. This leads to nothing but a domestic politics in which you are struggling to make others happy and strange part is that no one of them is bothering about your happiness. And when you finally stand for your own happiness, everyone will stand against you.So instead of playing domestic politics, just be you.
So we should learn to unbottle our feelings so that they just don't turn into a frustration and a rage.Showing yourself will hurt a person a little bit but at least you would feel free and contended.
