A Letter to Santa: Could You Please?
Dear Santa,

It is with hearts as heavy as a dead donkey we are writing you. We know you will be preparing to start visiting homes with presents as usual. We also know that our home is included in your list of homes to visit since Becky must have written you. But could you please leave our home out?

We are sorry for requesting this but we have no better choice; unless we receive the present and discard it afterwards. Still, not receiving it is best for us as this will prevent us from shedding a tear on Christmas.

Becky isn't here anymore. She is not here to receive your presents. No glittering eyes to behold your present, no mouth to giggle elatedly, no little hands to unwrap it, and no tender heart to be filled with love. All that is left here are four teary eyes, four trembling hands, and two mouths shaking but forming no words – just two hearts trying hard to mend their deep cracks.

We want to celebrate this Christmas as two lovebirds just as we did before we had Becky. We do not want a remembrance of the great good we've lost – not this Christmas at least.

With love,
The Boluwatifes.
