Life .. This Journey Called
Into this world I arrived, it was 5:45 PM. It was early in autumn on the most awaited day of the week. It was a Friday, no less. My birthstone is sapphire, the most beautiful color of blue. Though I mirror the description of a Virgo greatly, I don't really put much value in the concepts of astrology. Even though I feel blessed to have been born under the sign of the Virgin.

September for me has always been a mixed blessing. When I was younger, it was the month of my birthday celebration. The joy of this was short-lived as it was also the end of summer vacation. School was never something I looked forward to. Though I enjoyed learning greatly, the social aspects of it left far more to be desired.

No need to mention the year I was born — I will confess I was around in the Sixties though my experience compared to those older than me is really not worth mentioning. The earliest memory I'm able to recall is of my mother pulling me back from the path of an oncoming car. I remember how scared I was. I remember the look on her face.

I was around Six years of age, too young at the time to fully understand the tragedy of and the immensity of sorrow and grief so many felt. I remember that day when the news broke in .. it was the day they announced Martin Luther King had been shot. I felt sad and I grieved for all the sadness but again I was only just a kid at...
