Fresh out from the Southern State University, quarterback Loren Holmes was drafted 15th overall by the 49ers in the 1989 NFL Draft. He was a small-town boy with a big dream, primarily to play at Superbowl. He wasn't the most physically endowed player, standing at just six feet, lacking the quintessential frame associated with dominant quarterbacks.
