The streetlights were dim as the mist enclosed it in its mysterious grip. She peered out of her window into the darkness, was there someone out there or was it her imagination? Her heart raced as she tried to make out who it was. She rubbed her eyes and looked again, but the figure had disappeared.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. She hesitated for a moment before opening it. To her surprise, it was her neighbor, Mrs. Johnson. She looked worried and asked the woman if she had seen anything strange outside. She told her about the shadowy figure she had seen moving in the mist. Mrs. Johnson's face turned pale as she explained to her that there had been rumors of a serial killer on the loose in the area. She just came from her vacation and her husband was not at home. The police are also searching for the killer and she is scared to be home alone.
Her heart sank as she realized that she might have just seen the killer. She tried to calm herself down and went back to her room with Mrs. Johnson carefully locking all the doors in her house.
They both were just talking about something and being all giddy when her cell phone rang. Mrs. Johnson looked at her with questioning eyes. She said that she have to take the call, it was her father.
She went outside of her room and picked up the call. But, what her father said on the phone made her body freeze with fear. It was true that a serial killer was on the loose and police were trying to find the killer, and the killer was none other than Mrs. Johnson. Her last victim was her husband before she ran away as police found her identity.
She slowly looked at the figure sitting on her bed looking at her smiling. But, she does not feel like smiling as fear slowly engulfs her and her body turned cold. Then she noticed a change of expression on Mrs. Johnson's face. She noticed. She realised that she knew she was the killer. Her eyes widened in horror. Her mind went completely blank.
Slowly Mrs. Johnson got up from the bed with one hand behind her back. She slowly take out her hand and there was a knife with dry blood on it. Her eyes widened in horror, she quickly ran to the front door, but Mrs. Johnson was caught up with her.
And before she could open the door and run the knife went right though her upper back piercing her lungs, making her breathless immediately and she fell on the floor.
Mrs. Johnson slowly bend down to her face and said with a sinister smile on her face, "Stupid girl, fear is what I feed upon."
She just stared at the sinister smile as her breathe became shallower and her body slowly turned cold.
