CHAPTER 4: THE DISASTROUS NIGHT.
Lost in her thoughts, Nia was staring at the Arabian sea as her Uber passed Nariman point, she was on her way home. Dr. Bhaskar had been kind enough to counsel her to stay positive, she had been given a shirt and a trouser so that she would now be comfortable with her new identity, he had prescribed a few painkillers and told her the harsh truth that there was no treatment in sight.
Nia got down from her Uber and as she tried to enter her building, the guard stopped her. She kept her mouth shut and entered details in the security register. The guard looked at her & passed a dirty smile.
"Oh heavens! He thinks a guy has come over to spend a good time with Nia baby." She thought angrily.
She didn't care, she had lots on her mind & yet she gave him a long dark stare. The guard squirmed under her stare. She took the elevator to her apartment. It had been just ten minutes, when she heard the doorbell.
She peeped through the key hole, the guard was standing right outside her main door.
"Shankar, what the heck?what do you want?"yelled Nia.
"nothing ma'am, there was a man at your flat. So for safety sake,I just wanted to know whether, all is well??" he enquired.
"For heaven's sake!! yes, all is well."
Nia replied.
She heaved a sigh of relief as she watched him leave.
She stared at her mobile, it was 8pm. She was not hungry, she didn't have the will to do anything. Being trapped in a male's body was the worst punishment. She cursed herself for stepping out of her apartment. She couldn't share with her parents nor with Zoe as to the change of body as well as gender.
At least Zoe was still in a female's body, she sighed.
She messaged to her parents that all was well with her.
She then messaged Zoe enquiring about her well being. She received a quick reply from her "I am feeling great. Just look at my selfie".
Nia stared at the selfie with her mouth open.
Zoe looked so beautiful.
Zoe had average looks however now she looked amazing. Nia was filled with jealousy and rage. Who decided this? Did the virus decide, that she gets a man's body and her bestie looks so sexy....
