The Dark Night
She had been awoken by her cousin’s dog clawing at the door. The second the door was open, the dog was out running off into the woods way past the tree line. Now she was wishing that she had taken the second to put on a coat and some shoes, instead of sprinting after the animal.

The forest floor was cold and dry. Her lips were dry and cracked and blue from the cold. She kept hopping from one foot to the other trying to stay warm. In the distance just up ahead she heard a quiet whine and followed it. There she saw the dog crouched down low against the edge of the clearing, low growls erupting from the back of his throat. In the middle of the clearing was a man with his back towards her. Her breath caught, he was shirtless in the cold his back flexed as he moved. Taking a cautious step forward to get the dog, she stepped on a branch. The crunch could be heard loudly in the quiet night. In an instant he turned around- she gasped, he was beautiful.

Dark long slightly curled hair framed his sharp featured face. His eyes was a deep dark coloured brown, the kind you could stare at for hours and never get bored, he had a slight resemblance of stubble around his jaw. Peering closer she gasped at what she saw, a thin white scar ran across the right side of his face, clashing with his heavily tanned skin, but it didn’t make him look hideous in fact it added to his beauty.

She didn’t know how much time had passed, but the next thing she knew, he was right in front of her barely a foot away. His hands roughly grasped onto her shoulders and pushed her into a tree. Their heavy breaths made a cloud, making her realise just how close they were. She could hear her heart beat, it was wild, she only hoped he couldn’t hear it, she blushed at the taught. He took a step closer, an inch more and their lips would be touching. They stood pressed against each other, their hot breaths mingling with each other. His hands let go of her shoulders and reached up to her face- there he stood caressing he cheeks. His hands were warm to the touch.

Time stood still, she knew this was wrong, but she couldn’t look away. He leaned in closer, her heart stopped. She knew what was coming next, and she wanted it. A loud bark startled them, the noise ruining the mood. She placed one hand over her heart and blinked- he was gone.
