Intruder
I was watching a movie on a Friday night when I heard a knock at the door. I got up from the couch, leaving my phone behind on the table between the TV and the couch, and dragged myself to the door.
I casually opened the door to see who it was. To my surprise, no one was there. Seeing how pitch-black it was, I dismissed it as some brats playing a prank.
Without wasting energy looking for the culprits, I went back to continue the movie. On the way to the living room, something felt off. I could hear voices. I didn't struggle navigating out of the room, even though I could hardly see my way through the hallway next to the living room and into my bedroom.
Once I arrived in my room, I just threw myself onto the bed and slowly drifted to sleep without getting under the blankets or sheets. Someone's knocking disrupted my sleep. I put on an angry face and went towards the door. There was no one there. I got mad and slammed the door hard, making a loud noise that slightly echoed throughout the house. Now, I was even more annoyed with whoever was toying with me. I went back to sleep, hoping I would not be disturbed a second time. As I was about to doze off, I heard a loud bang on the main door. I covered my ears with the pillow, praying the sound would go away, convinced it was just a couple of kids seeking attention or a reaction out of me.
After a few hours,...
