"You told me that this place was built to imprison something, right?" I asked Ash as we walked into the nearly demolished building.

"It wasn't something, it was someone, " he answered, carefully choosing his words.

Ash is really handsome. I mean, every girl in our organization has a major crush on him.
His eyes are a weird combination of several shades of green, strange yet gorgeous. His face is like a beautiful painting made with bold strokes created by God. His cheekbones curving at the edge of his face. His jawline seemed to grab everyone's attention. His skin is light brown, whereas he has a natural blush.
I bit my lip to stop staring at him as I mostly did.

"I mean, was that person that dangerous that he needed a whole building to keep him or her imprisoned," I said trying to suppress my laugh. "Who was it?"

He remained quiet for a while.
"Me."

My head jerked in his direction so hard that I heard a crack at the back of my neck.
"What. Oh come on Ash, I wouldn't fall for that, " I said but looking at Ash, I doubted my decision.
I backed away a bit. "Ash...are you alright."

He turned towards me and took a step closer to me.
"I'm sorry, Sky. I would've told this to you before but I couldn't get myself to tell you." He said running his hand through his black tousled hair, they shined as he whipped them away from his forehead.

I saw it. I saw what I dreaded the most. The mark of Cain. I backed away and stumbled upon a broken piece of furniture. I didn't stop until I slipped upon a liquid, something unusual.

Ash came within a blink, faster than I had ever anticipated. He grabbed me before I could fall. His hands wrapped around my waist. He pulled me closer to him. I saw it again as he tilted his head. On his neck was the mark of Cain.

If it was possible, my heart would've jumped out of my mouth. The mark glowed, making the black lines appear red.

I pushed him away. He stumbled upon the fallen debris. "Who-its not possible for anyone to bear the mark...unless.."

"Unless that person is the child of Ubel, Ubel Blaska," he completed my sentence.

Now things started to make sense.
He had told us that he was an orphan. He wasn't. His face did have the features of Ubel, our greatest enemy. His eyes featuring the same shape as his father's but there was nothing evil in them.

Tears ran down my face
"I...why didn't...why did you trick us all," I blurted out. He gently took hold of my wrists and pulled me closer, again.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean too. I tried so hard but...but you guys were so close to me that I feared I would lose all of you. Especially you Sky. I'm not like my brothers and sisters, I was never like them. For the first time, I felt like I had a family, I had people who cared about me," he said in a low voice.

"That's why you were held here, because no one could harm you and if they did-"

"They would've died, so they imprisoned me in here." He said looking into my eyes. "I will work with you, I will help you destroy my father, for what he has done he must repay."

"The God had given the mark to Cain to protect him with divine power, it would save you too, anyone who tries to kill you would be cursed by God, given death from God" I mumbled to myself, it was barely even a whisper.

I pulled him closer, gripping his shirt tightly. His hands slid to my waist, holding me close. The world seemed to blur around me. I ran my hand through his soft hair, making them messier than they already were. Everything vanished as his lips came on my mine. Making my most desired longing into reality.

Note: The curse of Cain and the mark of Cain are phrases that originated in the story of Adam and Eve in the Hebrew Bible. In the stories, if someone did something to harm Cain, the damage would come back sevenfold.
